The game itself runs smoothly but because you need to reload often after death and keep looking at your stats frequently, I find the overall experience to be much slower than DS1. Another thing on PS3 is that the DVD seems to be constantly running, which on the cheap PS3 Slim is very noisy and makes me worry about disk longevity. It feels as if the game loads the images of items from a slow internet server every time (but I think of course it does this from the slow DVD).
I know this is about the PC version but still want to mention that the PS3 version I've been playing at the moment (while I wait for the 25th) has incredibly long load times in-game, including menu options and inventory screens (!).
